Sam Duggins is in his twelfth year of teaching at BCHS and his twenty-third year of teaching overall. He has also served as a church music director for twenty-eight years, most recently at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church in Chattanooga,
where he has served for the last thirteen years. He is originally from Greeneville, TN, but now resides with his family in Birchwood.
Mr. Duggins is very active as a conductor. He has conducted and/or  
coordinated several honor choir and community music events around the area. Under his leadership, the choirs at Bledsoe have enjoyed unprecedented success, including being rated superior on stage at ETVA (earning a spot at Tennessee ACDA State Festival) in 2016, and being named Sweepstakes Award winners at the Dollywood Music Showcase Festival in both 2017 and 2019, and at the 2018 Six Flags over Georgia Music Showcase Festival.
Last year, Mr. Duggins also took on leadership of the BCHS Band. He has
extensive experience as a band director from previous stops in his teaching career at Notre Dame, Bandys (NC), and Jefferson County.
