Bio
¡Hola! My name is Benita Cookston-DeBord, and this is my 12th year teaching Spanish at Bledsoe County High School (but this is my 26th year in education). I was born and raised in northwest Indiana and attended college at the University of Evansville where I majored in Social Studies and minored in Spanish, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. I lived in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, as an exchange student in the summer of 1993 and have also traveled to Spain. In 2007, I moved to the Sequatchie Valley to be close to my family and earned my Master's Degree in Foreign Language Education in May 2008 from Indiana University. I enjoy reading, singing, cake decorating, and I am an active member of my church family. I live in Bledsoe County with my husband, Terry, where we enjoy spending time with our kids and extended family.
